Hiya!
I’m Ash, the veg-head behind OH HELLO VEGAN. Welcome! OHV is a place to encourage delicious growth, and to celebrate how nourishing and simple it can be eating and living more compassionately.
I share parts of my journey living a lifestyle that’s full of compassion and kindness in hopes it can help ease the transition for folks who desire the same thing, and, I’m really appreciative that you’re here!
WHAT YOU’LL SEE ON OH HELLO VEGAN
On this blog you’ll see me cooking up my favorite vegan recipes while I document my kitchen messes and share products with you that are on the kind side. I’ll write about all things veganism as it pertains to my life and hopefully yours too!
You will find practical resources, along with supportive tools to help live and eat simply, but kindly.
To sum it all up, I will share what I learn, here on the blog, because we can all agree that sharing is caring, unless, of course, it’s related to food (then back off)!
I didn’t start OH HELLO VEGAN to be a place to push, but rather a place of delicious growth. I don’t believe in telling you what to do, because I believe that what might work for me and others, might not work for you.
OHV is a place to encourage you to learn and go at the pace that feels comfortable and works for you and your family.
This is a space where animals are celebrated, not exploited.
That’s why OH HELLO VEGAN is important to me. Because it’s not just for me, but also for you and those who want a place to start and to learn. It’s for the people who aren’t hiding from the truth anymore, it’s for those folks who are passionate about animals, are concerned over the environment and want to take back their health and start thriving!
Send OHV a message if there’s something you’d like to see on this blog that can help guide you in this journey.
I am stoked to have you part of my veggie-lovin world!
ABOUT ME
I have a meat-eater husband. Yep. And, like most plant based/vegan people, I was not born living on plants, and, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I gave veganism an actual shot. All I can say is that veganism is completely doable and can be approachably simple.
I went vegetarian around 2009 after being told I had high cholesterol, yeah, weird right?! But from 2009 ’til when I went vegan 3 years ago, my journey would make pivotal turns (and even a couple u-turns)… but I’ll share a blog post about my journey some other time.
A good RULE about a lifestyle overhaul is to give yourself grace and to remind yourself that it’s not about perfection but it’s about PROGRESS.
If you can gently remind yourself of that (and don’t listen to those naysayers), you’ll be alright!
If you mess up, don’t be too hard on yourself. Life is a constant journey and it’s all figureoutable!
I hope this place is a place for you. Even if it’s just reducing your meat and dairy consumption, going vegan completely, or becoming a vegetarian, I am here to hear you and support you so you can start thriving compassionately. Any progress is a win in my book!
That is all for now, and I hope you enjoy my vegan blog!
